Manny “Pac Man” Pacquiao (61, 7, 2) will challenge Keith “One Time” Thurman for his WBA Super World Welterweight title. Taking place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, I am predicting an all around action packed fight.
Pac Man, even at 40 years old, is no push over. In his last two fights, He Essentially retired Matthias and gave Broner a boxing lesson. The common factors in those two fights; speed, angles and footwork. Granted, Lucas was past his prime and Broner, well that’s a whole different story. But these are still top fighters. Manny’s agility isn’t what it used to be but he makes up for it with hand speed and power. Pacquiao’s best defense is his offense which can be a good thing for stationary fighters or fighters who can’t time his speed but he leaves himself extremely vulnerable when he’s on the offensive. Manny has a habit of beginning his attacks by throwing straight punches from his chest, leaving his chin open for a right. Another flaw, is pacquiao’s willingness to take unnecessary risk, more specifically, he reaches. He will extend his whole body forward for in hopes of landing a punch. This will leave him; one, off balance and two an invitation for an uppercut.
